A makeup course for actors + performers

Learn to apply your makeup like a pro so you look your best in headshots, auditions, on stage and screen.

Worried you're not putting your best face forward?

Whether it’s a headshot shoot, commercial casting, pilot season self-tape or theatre performance, as an actor, your face is always on display. And while it’s nice to have the professionals makeup on set, how are you supposed to look the part without their help? This course will demystify makeup once and for all, teaching you how to look the part whether you’re on screen or stage, auditioning or performing.

THE DETAILS

SO... WHAT EXACTLY WILL I LEARN?

We’ll start by decluttering your makeup kit, choosing the right brushes & products to suit your colouring. Next you’ll learn simple techniques for applying your makeup, one step at a time — from foundation right through to eye & lip products. Finally, we’ll get into the specifics of how to approach your makeup application depending on whether it’s for photos, on-screen auditions or stage performance. You’ll have access to the lessons forever, so you can watch (and re-watch!) at your own pace.

  • Understand what makeup and tools you really need and how much you should spend (or not spend) on them
  • Find the right colours to match your skin and learn how to enhance your natural face shape and features
  • Learn the different between photographic, film & stage makeup and how to design your own look to suit audition briefs
  • Learn how to create a flattering "no-makeup-makeup" look and how to use subtle tricks to look older or younger without FX

Genevieve Brock

Before starting the course I thought I was pretty adept at using makeup to good effect. But throughout this course there were so many big steps and little tips that my makeup routine has been missing all this time. Now I’m feeling so much more confident with my ability to apply my makeup and achieve a professional finish, as well as deviate from my normal makeup routine to create different looks. Thanks Kat!
